Birkdale Beck, Swaledale, Yorkshire Dales

Birkdale Beck, Swaledale, Yorkshire Dales I am spending the next four days with a group of 14 photographers in the small village of Romaldkirk, County Durham. On the map Romaldkirk is about 20 miles north of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, I am very keen to photograph the numerous national parks around the country so after the Lake District last November the Yorkshire Dales seemed like the perfect area to continue this photographic journey of mine. We decided to leave Manchester early this morning in order to hopefully get some good weather. We got to Nateby for about 9am and drove along the B6270 stopping at all the picturesque locations we could find. I took a few interesting pictures which I will share with you throughout the coming week, Swaledale is said to be the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales and I think I can definitely agree. The photograph above shows Birkdale Beck and the main road coming down from the barn and around to the right of the camera. This location was about 20 metres from the main road through Swaledale (the B6270).
