Salisbury Cathedral

by Ed O'Keeffe in Wiltshire, England

Salisbury Cathedral
Salisbury Cathedral

Seen from the north west this is Salisbury Cathedral. Evidently I had been here before as a child, but I neither remember the first visit nor have photographic evidence. This Anglican cathedral has the tallest church spire in the UK at 123 metres (404 feet) and it also has the largest cathedral close in Britain at 80 acres. The main body of the church was built in 38 years and completed in 1258. It is well worth a visit if you are in Wiltshire and / or going to Stonehenge. I visited both in the same day.
