Milldale is a village of stone cottages like the fantastic example above at the northern end of Dovedale. It serves as the main access point to Dovedale from the north. Today this is a privately owned home, as the majority of the old cottages in this sleepy village are. However, if you go on a sunny Sunday afternoon as we did you probably won't be alone!
