This is the view over Derbyshire from the top of Thorpe Cloud, which is at the southern end of Dovedale between the villages of Thorpe and Ilam. It is an isolated limestone hill that stands 942 feet (287 metres) high. We went up the side from the car park, which was very steep but rewarding. I thought putting my friend Tom in the photo looking down onto the countryside below added a human element that sometimes can be missing from my landscapes.
