San Giorgio Maggiore is one of the islands of Venice and this is a famous view that can be found just around the corner from St. Mark's Square from the waters edge. In the foreground are a few tourists in a gondola. It is a shame that the gondolier appears to be on his mobile phone but that couldn't be helped. The flood defence construction work in the lower left hand corner of the frame also couldn't be helped.
