Out of the three recipes / photographs I tried recently this mushroom risotto was the most difficult to photograph. I was using natural window light but had to supplement this with a touch of flash. Next time I am going to get a sheet of card with tin foil on to reflect the sunlight to the front of the food in shoots like this. The curl of cheese, sprig of parsley and fresh ground pepper really helped make this rather bland looking food seem much more appetising.
