This close-up shows a zoomed in photograph of the Clock Tower known as Big Ben at the north end of the Place of Westminster, which we can see in the foreground. This clock is over 150 years old and first ticked on the 31st May 1859. Since then it has been an icon of the capital city, London. I took this photograph from the opposite bank of the River Thames.
